Lyndsey Jayne Gough

German born English Artist.

Abstract expressionism is the movement I am drawn to most amongst other artistic movements. My Art is based on a development of abstract art, aimed at subjective emotional expression with particular emphasis on interactions within society. When creating art. I am incrementally facing emotional dysregulation as my antidote to suffering is the truth in my art. It distracts me from worries, reduces stress and creates a healthy state of mind. Art is my therapy and based on my story.

Past. Growing up as a Warrant Officer’s Daughter I lived in an ambiguous subculture that blends in with the lifestyle of a service member. Due to moving frequently I ended up being the new child quite often. Moving to different places, different cultures and different ideologies, foods and forms of art were introduced to me at a very young age.

Present. Purchasing a Victorian property in Ilkley in 2016. The property contains the studio and online art gallery which will be open to the public by appointment only.

Future. To create pieces of artwork and collaborate in mindfulness workshops.
